Why Sir Alex Ferguson retired

Why did Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson retired?Although it was a very sad news but I think it's time for him to take some rest and chewing the same gum. Part of his reason is because of his wife which he wanted to spent more time with. David Moyes will be taking over as the new coach of Manchester United in the coming season.
