How and where to farm gold in Diablo 3 (100-200k an hour)

This guide is to show how  and where to farm gold in Diablo 3 easily 100 - 200k an hour. Recommended for level 60 to take advantage of Napoleon Valor (NV) when killing rare or elite pack. Each stack is worth 15% gold and magic find so having 5 full stack is 75%. I will be using monk for this guide.

If you are like me who started out not using the Auction House but slowly become overwhelmed in Hell difficulty and getting one shot in Inferno. Your best bet is to gear up, however gearing up by playing through the game is almost impossible. Throughout my play from normal to hell, I have only found a ring and amulet that I could actually use.

The problem with using the auction house is that you need gold, I am not recommending to spend real money because it is just a game. So you will need to equip some gold find or magic find equipment to farm up some gold and item that you might be able to vendor or sell in auction house. 

The main objective here is to get at least 200% gold find with 11 equipment slot excluding weapons slot you will get a total of 275% gold find with Napoleon Valor. Equipment with gold find and magic find with good stats are expensive so to start off I bought equipment with gold find from 16%-20% below 30K although rings and chest armor were more expensive.  I spent around 250k to get around 216% gold find. Remember 
to also equip your follower with gold find item, their gold find stat will only reflect 20% of the total on you. 


Most people would recommend equipment with pickup radius of 7 and above and movement speed. Trust me, gold find with radius pickup or movement speed increase is going to cost a bomb. I do find it necessary unless you are lazy and would want to finish each run fast. For me I like to relax and enjoy farming.

Next you would want to find a place to farm. The best farming place is in Nightmare mode, you spend less time trying to kill monster and spend less gold repairing equipment if you die plus gold drop between nightmare and hell is not much difference. I spent around 1.2k of gold to repair equipment each time I died in Hell. Although for equipment farm you would want to do it in Act 1 Inferno which you need to farm gold and gear up in Nightmare first. Trust me, hell is far more difficult with the little startup gold find equipment. It took me 720k just to be able to pumeled everything in Hell mode with gold find 216% and magic find 94% unbuffed. Then again I find it took longer and not beneficial than doing it in Nightmare.

Many people recommend Act 3 Siegebreaker but the rare pack and elite pack here is lesser plus the gold drops in my opinion is lesser. I do it in Act 3 Heart of Sin, I can find rare/elite pack on each floor and normally max out my NV before third floor. You can get gold drop from 200 - 900 max. Normally I take it slowly because if you are doing it too quickly it can become stressful and just for the sake of quickly finishing, not enjoyable. I can do around 150k gold in an hour here and also vendoring off the loot. I believe with gold pickup radius you can do this even faster which I will try in future updates. I slowly working to Inferno and will share my experience.
